Last year, I made an art bag for my my niece Clare’s sixth birthday. This year, I made a custom case for a camera that she got for Christmas. (Special thanks to my sister-in-law Patty for the great idea.) I really had no idea where to begin, but after some online searching, I managed to find a fairly simple tutorial for a camera case and decided to give it a shot.
Clare’s favorite colors are purple and green (she has great taste), so I had a lot of fun looking for fabrics to use.
I modified the pattern a little by adding a pocket for her charger cord to the back of the case and a strap to make it easier to carry around.
Add a little Velcro to the flap, and you have a functioning camera case!
Her camera fit inside perfectly, and she definitely liked the the color choices. I hope she’ll get a lot of good use out of it. Plus, it’s machine-washable!
